Dentures

A denture is a removable replacement for missing teeth and the tissues connected to those teeth. It is made of acrylic plastic and sometimes porcelain and metal materials. A denture closely resembles natural gum tissue and teeth. A complete denture replaces all of the teeth, while a partial denture fills in the spaces created by missing teeth and prevents shifting of other teeth from their normal position.

Once it is determined you need a partial denture or a full denture, a series of appointments will be scheduled. There will be four appointments in all, over a 12 week process.

What to Expect with Each Appointment

First Appointment

We will do two different sets of impressions. The impressions will be sent to a lab for the next stage of process. An appointment will be made for 3 weeks out to allow for the lab work to be completed.

Second Appointment

Next, a wax try in will be placed to get a good fit on the arch and mark the margins for placement of the teeth. Once all adjustments are made, the wax try in will be sent back to the lab for the 3rd stage of the process. An appointment will be made for 3 weeks out to allow for the lab work.

Third Appointment

A wax try in with teeth will be placed to make sure all the margins are good and everything lines up properly. Once adjustments are made, if any, the wax try in with teeth is sent back to the lab for the 4th stage of the process. An appointment will be made for 3 weeks out to allow for the lab work.
